Fascinating. It's strange how you get this feeling of light in such a faded painting. At the same time it helps bring a bit of order to the chaos and give a surreal sense of form. Small clear-cut areas of light with no fade, actually very little seems to be immediately toned or faded in all the image, it all seems to be clear-cut lines or areas building up an impression of shifting tones. It's a strangely craftman-like technique, and I like it. I especially like the almost luminous beam and the pigeon-hole looking like an eclipse next to it, and the small human-like shape with tentacles of light rising from it beneath the being.
